My husband and I were ready to give up on our dog and send him to a farm where he could fun free until we met Heather. We felt like failures because our first dog trainer was ready to give him a shock collar because he was so defiant! Our dog, Elvis, is a basset mix—the most stubborn breed of them all. When I first talked to Heather on the phone it was like talking to an old friend—she is so easy to get along with and very informative. When we met in person, I explained what I wanted to accomplish, she observed Elvis and how I was trying to correct him, and then we took a walk. After only a few visits with her it was like magic. She gave me tips, homework, and a doggie backpack to help exercise him. She taught me that when I tense up and start to worry in my mind, he will notice and react. I am now able to walk with Elvis and enjoy myself. It took lots of practice on my part, but it was worth every minute. Heather still contacts me all the time to check in on Elvis and see how my husband and I are doing. She doesn't just forget you after you pay her. I highly recommend Heather to every dog owner I meet!

I wanted to give you an update and share that the puppies are doing great!There have not been any altercations since your visit. Rick no longer has favorites and loves each for their unique personalities. There is also more structure for each. You were and are a life saver for both Kami and I... and I thank you!

One element of Heather's training I liked the best was that in the very beginning, Heather met with us without our dogs. This was so that she could evaluate our needs and concerns and could then mold the classes around that information. Plus, her knowledge of everything dog-related is so helpful. The tips and tricks we learned are still so valuable. My dog and I really enjoyed Heather's schooling because she made it so successful for the whole family.

​Heather is an outstanding dog (and people) trainer—she sees what people do, picks up on their interactions with dogs, and then treats the problems or behaviors efficiently utilizing positive reinforcement. Heather does not utilize negative punitive methods in any of her training. Our dogs LOVE her. We tried other trainers that were highly recommended and they were unable to accomplish the results Heather could. ​This is the second time our family has had Heather over for her help. The first time was for our Jack Russell Terrier Roscoe who walked like a freak-on-a-leash— thankfully, we now have that fixed and enjoy our walks. Four weeks ago today we adopted Reggie, a larger, two-year old 60-pound dog from the SPCA. We were concerned about the introduction of the newest member of the family along with being worried about food aggression, walking a bigger dog, and a host of other issues. Upon calling Heather, she came for a session within 24 hours of the adoption. She gave us instructions on how to handle every situation we were concerned with, told us what to expect, and gave us a realistic time line. As of yesterday, both dogs got along very well, and had no food or walking issues. Without Heather's advice and all-over expertise, I really don't think things would have gone this well.
