Testimonials from Heather's Clients
My husband and I were ready to give up on our dog and send him to a farm where he could fun free until we met Heather. We felt like failures because our first dog trainer was ready to give him a shock collar because he was so defiant! Our dog, Elvis, is a basset mix, the most stubborn breed of them all. When I first talked to Heather on the phone it was like talking to an old friend. That's exactly how it was when we met also. She is so easy to get along with and very informative. I explained what I wanted to accomplish and she observed Elvis, how I was trying to correct him, then we took a walk. After only a few visits with her it was like magic. She gave me tips, homework, and a doggie backpack to help exercise him. She taught me that when I tense up and start to worry in my mind he will notice and react. Which of course he would, and then almost pull my arm off. I am now able to walk with Elvis and enjoy myself. It took lots of practice on my part and it was worth every minute. Heather still contacts me all the time to check in on Elvis and see how my husband and I are doing. She doesn't just forget you after you pay her. I highly recommend Heather to every dog owner I meet.
I wanted to give you an update and share that the puppies are doing great There have not been any altercations since your visit. Rick no longer has favorites and loves each for their unique personalities.
There is more structure for each.
You are/were a life saver for both Kami and I... and I thank you!
Heather, you are an excellent dog trainer. You helped Brooklynn tremendously to become a very social dog and shine with her athleticism. More importantly though, you are a very good person.
I also thought I'd tell you we are having NO reaction to people/dogs/and even walking through crowds!! He followed me through a huge crowd of school kids waiting for the bus and never once pulled or anything this morning. We are so proud of Koa and can't thank you enough for helping ALL of us get to this point. Things will only get better from here!! You're a huge blessing to our family!
One element I liked the best was in the very beginning Heather met with us owners without our dogs. This was so she could evaluate your needs and concerns, so she could mold the classes around that information. Plus, her knowledge of everything dog is so helpful. The tips and tricks we learned are still so helpful. My dog and I really enjoyed Heather's schooling because she made it so successful for the whole family.

Heather is an outstanding dog ( and people) trainer. She sees what people do and picks up on their interactions with dogs and treats the problems or behaviors efficiently utilizing positive reinforcement. Heather does not utilize negative punitive methods in any of her training. Our dogs LOVE her. We tried other trainers that were highly recommended and they were unable to accomplish the results Heather could. Heather also makes training a fun pleasurable experience for your pet and the family members.
This is the second time our family has had Heather over for her help. First time was for our Jack Russell Terrier - Roscoe who walked like a freak-on-a-leash and we now have that fixed and enjoy walks. Four weeks ago today we adopted a larger 60 pound dog, 2 years old, from the SPCA - Reggie. We were concerned about the introduction of the newest member of the family. I was worried about food aggression, walking a bigger dog and a host of other issues. Upon calling Heather, she came for a session within 24 hours of the adoption. She gave us instructions on how to handle every situation we were concerned with, told us what to expect and gave us a realistic time line. As of yesterday, both dogs get along very well, no food or walking issues, etc. With out Heather's advice and all over expertise, I really don't think things would have gone this well. Our entire family is now loving life together and we could not be happier. I would highly recommend Heather to any dog owner I know. Thank you Heather!!
