Last Saturday I volunteered for the local shelter at a Christmas event for families. We had 4 dogs there, Bluebell was the dog I was taking care for.
The families started to arrive, they would go inside and see Santa and then come outside to decorate cookies. Suddenly the children would see the dogs and do what children do, run as fast as possible, screaming. Yes straight for the dogs. The parents not even aware of what their children were doing, did not realise that there could have been a dog bite to their child if we were not vigilant and walked the dogs away. As parents, we are responsible in teaching our children how to act around dogs.
